Vanderbilt Football Spring Game is Set

Football is always on the minds of most fans here in the south, and in the SEC. Today, Vanderbilt announced the date for the annual Black and Gold Spring Game for Saturday, April 18, 2026, at FirstBank Stadium.

Coming off one of the best Vanderbilt Football seasons ever, the Dores finished 10-3 and ranked No. 14 in the final CFP Rankings and No. 15 in the final AP Top 25. The Commodores will have some returning guys that are familiar to fans, as well as some newcomers such as Ricardo Jones, transfer safety from Clemson, Brian Allen, transfer defensive lineman from Iowa, and Cole Adams, transfer wide receiver from Alabama, amongst others.

With Diego Pavia now moving on to the NFL, a lot of speculation is on the all-important QB spot. The Dores flipped and signed 5-Star QB Jared Curtis from right out of Nashville Christian School, and with his elite talent you would think he may be a strong option as a day one starter for Vanderbilt. Especially, if he comes in and picks up things quickly.

According to Charles Power, scout with Rivals, Curtis has elite arm talent with creative playmaking ability as well as some other attributes mentioned below.

“Ball explodes off his hand. Generates considerable velocity on throws to all areas of the field. Has a loose, natural throwing motion. Capable of delivering impressive passes from several arm angles. A pure rotational athlete who does not need his feet set to throw accurate passes. Plays with a gunslinging mentality and is not afraid to drive the football into tight windows over the middle of the field. A fluid athlete who is tough to corral in the backfield.”

Coach Clark Lea’s team looks to keep the momentum rolling into the 2026 year, and what better way for us all to catch a first glimpse than on the third Saturday in April. Details such as time of the spring game and other things will be announced at a later date.
