Sacha Washington is a Top 10 Forward

When Sacha Washington gets going in the paint, it is a long night for the opposition. Today, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced that Washington, a graduate forward for the Vanderbilt Commodores Women’s Basketball team was named to the 2026 Katrina McClain Award midseason top 10 list.

The Katrina McClain Award goes to the nation’s top power forward, which is a part of the Naismith Starting 5. Washington has been a fixture in the Commodores starting lineup this season, the 6’2” forward has started in all 23 games, and averages just under 10 points per game (9.9) with 7.5 rebounds per game.

This season, she’s reached a season high of 18 points on January 22 against the Auburn Tigers, and a season high of 16 rebounds against the Missouri Tigers on January 8. Both were great wins for the Commodores. When Washington dominates, things seem to go much smoother.
