Vanderbilt Picks Up Jaylin Davies

Coach Clark Lea and the Vanderbilt Commodores football team picked up another transfer earlier today. First reported by On3’s Pete Nakos, cornerback Jaylin Davies comes in from Oklahoma State, where he spent the 2025 season.

Davies only saw action in one game, on October 11, 2025 vs. Houston, where he recorded one tackle. Davies suffered a season ending injury in that game.

Jaylin Davies spent the previous three seasons at UCLA, where he appeared in 38 games and recorded 105 total tackles (79 solo, 26 assists), 1.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, four interceptions, 15 pass deflections, one forced fumble, and one recovery.

Before his time at UCLA, he initially signed with Oregon out of Mater Dei High School where he was a four star prospect. Davies redshirted the 2021 season, with two games of action that year.

Jaylin Davies makes the third secondary player Vanderbilt has taken from the portal this winter. The Dores also signed safety Ricardo Jones from Clemson and former Texas A&M cornerback Cobey Sellers.

The Commodores look to be very solid on the backend of their defense in 2026, and coming off last year’s success, the momentum looks to carry forward for Clark Lea and the Dores.
