Sarasota College Softball Classic Set for 2027

2027 will bring a new event to the college softball season, as the Sarasota College Softball Classic, hosted by Peak Events, LLC, will take place February 11–14, 2027. According to Peak Events, LLC, the event will be played at the new 17th Street Regional Sports Complex, with 15 total games across four days. All games will be played on the facility’s championship field.

The new complex is set to open in December of 2026 and is expected to become a must see destination for athletic events of all ages. More information on the complex can be found through the link provided below.

“We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to work alongside Sarasota County in hosting this premier NCAA Division I softball event,” said Nathan Wooldridge, Vice President of Peak Events. “We pride ourselves on providing an unmatched student-athlete and fan experience with a proven track record in hosting the nation’s top early-season NCAA Division I baseball events, and this will be no exception. Combined with great teams and the beautiful setting of Sarasota, we hope to make this the primary early-season destination for the country’s best programs. This will be the #BestOutsideOfOKC!”

For the inaugural Sarasota College Softball Classic, several strong programs will take part. Alabama, Baylor, Florida State, James Madison, Ohio State, and Texas State are set to compete in the event.

Game schedule, ticketing, and additional details will be revealed at a later time. In the meantime, fans can follow the Sarasota College Softball Classic on X, Facebook, and Instagram at @SarasotaClassic or visit www.peak.events.

Peak Events, LLC owns collegiate sporting events such as the Live Like Lou Jax College Baseball Classic, the Live Like Lou Las Vegas College Baseball Classic, the Frisco College Baseball Classic, the Round Rock College Baseball Classic, the Sarasota Softball Classic, and the Battle at the Ballpark.

This event adds another competitive early season softball showcase to the collegiate landscape. One thing college softball consistently does well is opening the season with exciting matchups. There is very little warm up period in this sport, making the early portion of the season important, especially for mid-major programs looking to build a strong RPI foundation.
