Bryant University Softball announced the hiring of Kat Rodriguez as Assistant Coach. Rodriguez, from Pembroke Pines, Florida, had an All-American 2025 Graduate season at North Carolina.

In 2025, Rodriguez was a .435 hitter with nine home runs, 83 RBIs, 57 runs scored, and 15 doubles in 56 games.

Before her time at UNC, Rodriguez spent three years at Pitt and one year at Quinnipiac.

Following her collegiate career, Rodriguez was signed by the Orlando Monarchs, where she completed her first season of professional softball in the Professional Fastpitch League.

Rodriguez now brings her experience, leadership, and high level mindset to Bryant as she begins her next chapter in coaching.

I'm Charles Mays, the founder of Mays Sports Media, an independent sports outlet I built from the ground up. I'm a Ridgely, Tennessee native now based in Knoxville, and I got my start covering Florida State athletics for SB Nation's Tomahawk Nation before stepping out on my own. My coverage now centers on Vanderbilt Athletics and the sport of softball at the collegiate and pro levels, with a broader take on national sports stories worth telling. I also launched the Fastpitch Wire Softball brand in 2025, covering softball at all levels. As an independent writer, I'm not backed by a major network or corporate media group. I've earned my access, my sources, my credibility and trust through ethical and serious work.
